Foundry

Aluminum is my favorite metal to scrounge up. It's everywhere, from outdoor lawn furniture to cans and car wheels. It also cuts down real easy so you can melt it in a smaller crucible at thome. My personal favorite source is retired hard drive chassis from my work.

Brass can often be found in outdoor plumbing fixtures, old keys, clocks, and ammunition shells. Make sure you remove the primers if you use ammo! Sort your brass because it comes in different alloys and try to melt only like bits together.

Another great metal for scrapping, copper is everywhere. Wires are a pain if they're not really thick, so watch out for old plumbing pipes, bad motor windings, and even pennies if they're older than about 1982.
